Cryptothallus hirsutus Notes on Early Land Plants Today. 1. Bryophytes

Abstract

Cryptothallus mirabilis von Malmborg (1933), which is the type species for Cryptothallus Malmborg (1933), has been shown to belong to Aneura Dumortier (1822; Wickett & Goffinet 2008). One more species (Cryptothallus hirsutus) needs to be transferred. It needs a new name, however, since Aneura hirsuta already exists.
