A new species of Indopottia (Pottiaceae: Bryophyta) discovered from Western Himalaya, India

Abstract

Indopottia himalayensis D.Shukla, Manchi & Sushil K.Singh, sp. nov.—a new species of the genus Indopottia, collected from Madhyamaheshwar, Uttarakhand, Western Himalayas, India, has been described and a detailed taxonomic description is presented in this article along with supporting figures. It is interesting to note that this genus is recorded here for the first time from the Indian Himalayan Region, earlier known from the Western Ghats of India and Thailand.
