Abstract
The name Kalanchoe ×annae-monroae (Crassulaceae [subfam. Cotyledonoideae] tr. Kalanchoeae) is published for the hybrid derived from K. fedtschenkoi and K. scandens, both of which are indigenous to Madagascar. Kalanchoe fedtschenkoi is a medium-sized shrub with erect to leaning stems and branches and its corollas vary from reddish purple, to pinkish, to orange, to pale yellow, while K. scandens is a scrambling climber with thin, weak stems and branches, and its flowers are dull dark greyish green and densely infused with purple flecks, A discussion is provided on character inheritance in the hybrid offspring of species that have multiple reproductive strategies. The parent species and the nothospecies are illustrated.
