Abstract

Peliosanthes rigidifolia, a new species discovered in central Vietnam, is described and illustrated. It is readily distinguished from all its congeners by its stamens that are entirely free from each other, non-epitepalous, and possess small anthers scarcely exceeding the filaments. A detailed morphological description of the new species is presented along with information on its ecology, phenology, conservation status, and distribution, as well as relevant taxonomic notes and analytical photographic illustrations.
