Begonia emarginata, sect. Platycentrum (Begoniaceae) a new species from Arunachal Pradesh, India

Abstract

Begonia emarginata, a new species of Begonia section Platycentrum (Begoniaceae) from the Lower Dibang Valley of Arunachal Pradesh, Northeast India, is described here based on morphological evidence. The new species shows close phenotypic affinity with B. kekarmonyingensis. A detailed description is provided along with coloured photo plates, a distribution map and provisional conservation status.
