Abstract

A new species of Gesneriaceae, Oreocharis tamdaoensis, from Tam Dao National Park, Phu Tho province (former Vinh Phuc), Northern Vietnam, is described and illustrated. This species is morphologically similar to O. argyreia, but can be easily distinguished by its longer petioles (6.5–9.5 cm vs. 2–7 cm), elliptic to broadly obovate leaf blades (vs. narrowly elliptic), and light yellow corolla (vs. bluish-purple). Currently, the species is only known from its type locality.
