Abstract

Peliosanthes hainanensis is described and illustrated as a new species from Hainan Province, China. The new species has linear-lanceolate blades, ascending flowers, a globose staminal corona, a cylindrical subepigynous (nearly superior) ovary, and a style exserted beyond the corona.
