Abstract
Species of Cylindrocladiella are saprobic or pathogenic on plants and are widely distributed in soils of tropical and subtropical regions. Information on the species diversity and distribution of Cylindrocladiella in China remains limited, with only eight species recorded to date. This study characterizes isolates obtained from leaf spots of Parthenocissus tricuspidata in Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, China. Multilocus phylogenetic analyses, based on combined ITS, his3, tef1-α, and tub2 loci, along with morphological observations, revealed that the isolates represent a novel species, Cylindrocladiella guiyangensis sp. nov. Morphologically, this species resembles Cylindrocladiella pseudohawaiiensis, sharing similar terminal vesicles, conidia, and phialides, with the exception of occasional irregular or swollen conidia. Phylogenetic evidence from Maximum Likelihood (ML) and Bayesian Inference (BI) analyses supports its placement in a distinct clade within the genus Cylindrocladiella. The isolates obtained were identified as a new species, Cylindrocladiella guiyangensis sp. nov.
