Abstract

This work aims to place Catasetum longiantennatum into the synonymy of Catasetum hopkinsonianum, provide an epitype for C. hopkinsonianum and a lectotype for C. longiantennatum, and clarify the taxonomic identity and nomenclatural status of both names. We also extend the known geographical distribution of C. hopkinsonianum to Northern Brazil, with the first documented record from the state of Amazonas. In addition, we provide a morphological description, taxonomic and ecological notes, a distribution map, and an assessment of the conservation status of the species.
