Abstract

A new species, Michauxia mormoriana (Campanulaceae) from Ilam, Iran, is described and illustrated. It is partly similar to M. nuda (Iraq, Turkey), M. stenophylla (Iran), and M. tchihatcheffii (Turkey), but differs mainly in morphological characteristics such as corolla shape and division, appendage of calyx, indumentum of stem, leaves and style. In this study, an identification key for Michauxia taxa, a detailed description, diagnostic characters, original photographs, conservation assessment, and taxonomic comments on the new species are presented.
