Zingiber jagannathii (Zingiberaceae): a new species from Similipal Biosphere Reserve of Odisha, India

Abstract

A new ginger species, Zingiber jagannathii S.C. Sahu & S. Priyadarshini (Zingiberaceae) is described and illustrated from Odisha, India. Detailed taxonomic description accompanied by field and photomicrographs as well as notes on distribution, ecology, phenology and associate species are provided. A comparison table with allied species is included for easy identification and distinction.
