Abstract

Yushania bomdilaena Naithani, a new species of temperate bamboo, is described from Arunachal Pradesh, India. It is characterized by the presence of recurved stiff roots on lower nodes; internodes purple and green stripes on lower half; Culm sheath blade without bristles at the mouth proper. Based on morphological characters, the new species is assigned to the genus Yushania.
