Abstract
Based on study of leaves from the outcrops of the Mura Formation (East Siberia) the diagnosis of the species Ginkgo abaniensis is emended. Because fossils of Ginkgoales reproductive organs are absent in the Early and Middle Jurassic sediments of East Siberia, the assignment of Ginkgo-like leaves to the genus Ginkgo is not proved. Therefore, such leaves are assigned to the fossil-genus Ginkgoites and the new combinations: Ginkgoites abaniensis comb. nov., G. capillata comb. nov. and G. glinkiensis comb. nov. are proposed. The epidermal structure clearly differentiates Ginkgoites abaniensis comb. nov. from other representatives of Ginkgoites known from Jurassic and Lower Cretaceous sediments of Europe, Central Asia and Siberia.
