Abstract
Here, we report some interesting periphytic desmids, collected in the Chapada Diamantina region, Caatinga domain, northeastern Brazil. Overall, seven taxa were identified, including two species (Bourrellyodesmus comperei, Xanthidium verrucosum) and one variety (Xanthidium concinnum var. longispinum), which are taxonomic novelties, in addition to other taxa of the desmid flora of Brazil. Taxonomic notes and ecological information were provided for each taxon.
