Abstract

Recent studies on nomenclatural revision showed that the name of three species of Carex L. (Cyperaceae; confined to Central and Eastern Himalayas) have not yet typified. We proposed the lectotypes for three names applied for the first time by Francis Boott in Illustration of the genus Carex (1858, 1862): Carex decora Boott, Carex pulchra Boott, and Carex vesiculosa Boott. The basic aim of the present study is to stabilize the binomen with the original materials and to locate the typous of the name for future correspondence.
