Hygrocybe pseudoacutoconica (Hygrocybeae, Hygrocyboideae, Hygrophoraceae), a new species from a South China Sea island

Fungi Hygrophoraceae new taxon phylogenetic analysis waxcap

Abstract

Hygrocybe pseudoacutoconica, a new species in subg. Hygrocybe sect. Hygrocybe subsect. Macrosporae, is characterized by small and non-blackening basidiomata; orange to reddish orange pileus; free, white, and broad lamellae; regular lamellar trama; and ellipsoid to oblong basidiospores [(7–)9–11(–12) × 5–7 μm]. Phylogeny overview of the genus Hygrocybe confirmed the phylogenetic position of the new species.
