A new species of Annonaceae from southern Western Ghats, India

Abstract

Miliusa Leschenault ex Candolle (1832: 213) is represented worldwide by 40 species and mostly distributed in Southeast Asia and Australia (Mols&Kessler 2003). Mitra (1993) recognized 15 species in India, and since then five new taxa, Miliusa wayanadica Narayanan et al. (2010:64), Miliusa velutina var. deviyarina Rajendran et al. (2003:220), M. tirunelvelica Murugan et al. (2004:102), M. gokhalei Narayanan et al (2012:26) and M. codonantha Chaowasku (2013:101) have been added.
