Abstract

Trechispora abieticola sp. nov. found in Yunnan Province, southwestern China, is described here as a new species based on morphology and phylogeny. Trechispora abieticola has white basidiomata, a yellowish and grandinioid hymenophore, and a monomitic hyphal system with thin-walled hyphae, and subglobose, hyaline, thick-walled and verrucose basidiospores, with a single guttule, measuring 2.1–2.9 × 2.0–2.6 µm. Phylogenetic analyses of the new species were conducted using the nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer (ITS). The phylogenetic analyses indicated that the new species belongs to the genus Trechispora, and forms a monophyletic lineage. A full description, illustrations, and phylogenetic analyses results of the new species are provided.
