Abstract
Impatiens lisuana (Balsaminaceae), a new species from Northwest Yunnan Province, China, is described and illustrated. Morphologically, it is similar to I. lizipingensis, but differs in its glands borne at the base of petiole, some sterile inflorescences developing at the later stage of the florescence, elliptic-lanceolate distal lobes and lanceolate bracts. Molecular evidence supports that I. lisuana belongs to I. sect. Racemosae, and forms a monophyletic clade with I. lhunzeensis, I. longiaristata, I. siculifer, I. principis and I. drepanophora. These resultss clearly separate I. lisuana from its morphologically similar relatives and support its recognition as a distinct new species.
