Ammannia telanganensis (Lythraceae), a new species described from Telangana State, India based on morphological evidence. The species is closely allied to Ammannia cordata and A. prostrata but differs in a combination of characters, including oblong to lanceolate bracts with a cordate or truncate base, flowers arranged in pedunculate cymes with showy petals, and seeds with cerebriform testa ornamentation. A detailed morphological description, diagnostic notes, phenology, distribution, habitat, conservation status, and colour photographs are provided.
