Spinella is an illegitimate superfluous name for Orostachys (Crassulaceae)

Eudicots Crassulaceae Orostachys Spinella

Abstract

Spinella was recently published for Orostachys subsect. Appendiculatae. However, it is an illegtimate supperflous when published under Art. 52.1 and 52.2 because the authors included Orostachys spinosa, the correct name for O. chlorantha, which is the previously conserved type of Orostachys and is autonomously typified by the type of Cotyledon spinosa, the bsaionym of O. spinosa.
