Abstract
Chamaeanthus Schlechter (1905: 552) is a small orchidaceous genus that has four species distributed in Peninsular Thailand, Java, Borneo to China and the Philippines (Pham et al. 2021a, 2021b). Ule (1908: 71) inadvertently established a homonym in Commelinaceae to accommodate a single species Chamaeanthus wittianus Ule (1908: 71) from Brazil, which later Ule replaced it with Geogenanthus Ule (1913: 524) as his genus was a later homonym and therefore illegitimate (Art. 53.1 of the ICN; Turland et al. 2025).
