Abstract

Draba baskilense sp. nov. (Brassicaceae) is a casmophyt species that is new to the scientific world and is only known to be distributed in the rocks 7–8 km north of Baskil District (Elazığ) in the Eastern Anatolia Region of Türkiye. The new species, although it resembles D. rigida and D. breviifolia subsp. breviifolia in that it is a cushion-forming perennial leafless stem (scapous) plant, but it differs from these two species in that the linear ciliate leaves, its petal lamina is rounded and has claws 0.5–0.7 mm long, its ovary is glabrous, its stylus is short and thick, and its silicula carpels are coriaceous-cartilaginous. Photographs of the habit of D. baskilense were taken with a camera; images of leaves, hairs, scape, raceme, flower, petal, silicula, and seeds were taken with a higher magnification binocular microscope. In addition to the ecological data, the IUCN conservation status and distribution map of the new species, the distributions of related species are also given
