Aeschynanthus Flora of Guizhou Gesneriaceae new taxon epiphytic Eudicots

Abstract

Aeschynanthus micranthus var. liae, a new variety of Gesneriaceae from the monsoon rain forest in Libo, Qiannan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture is described and illustrated here. It morphologically resembles the typical variety, A. micranthus var. micranthus, in size, shape, and the leaf blades. But it can easily be distinguished from the flowers. It is provisionally assessed as Data Deficient (DD), according to the IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria (Version 16), because field surveys for this new taxon have not been completed.
