Abstract
Soil harbours a diverse array of fungal species; however, a substantial proportion of its fungal diversity remains undescribed. We describe two fungal strains isolated from soil samples collected in the Dashah River National Nature Reserve, Guizhou Province, China. Based on an integrative taxonomic approach combining morphological characterization and multi-locus phylogenetic analyses (ITS, LSU, SSU, and tef1-α), we identified and characterized two novel species, Chloridium yangxiense sp. nov. (Sordariomycetes) and Periconia sanqiaoense sp. nov. (Dothideomycetes), representing previously undocumented lineages within their respective classes.
