Xanthosoma quitensis (Araceae), a new species from northwestern Ecuador

Abstract

Xanthosoma quitensis is described and illustrated as a new species endemic to the Mashpi-Tayra Reserve, within the Metropolitan District of Quito, northwestern Ecuador. It is compared with the morphologically similar species X. mashpiense and X. kvistii.
