Abstract
Peliosanthes mantegazziana, a nearly forgotten species described at the very beginning of the 20th century from Peninsular Malaysia, is re-examined. Peliosanthes graminea, which was established several years later based on material from Peninsular Thailand, is demonstrated to be identical to P. mantegazziana, and is therefore here reduced to its synonym. Morphological description of P. mantegazziana is updated, and its analytical photographs are published for the first time. Identity of P. mantegazziana with respect to the highly variable and broadly distributed P. teta is discussed.
