Abstract

The taxonomic identity of Alyssum emarginatum, an overlooked species described by Visiani from present-day Croatia, is assessed on the basis of Visiani’s herbarium material and the protologue. Other plant specimens collected in Croatia, including the original locality, were examined as well. The lectotype of the name is designated and it is identified as a new synonym of Alyssum simplex.
