Abstract

This study presents a comprehensive taxonomic revision of the Paepalanthus canastrensis complex, including the designation of a lectotype and the description of four new endemic species within Paepalanthus subg. Platycaulon sect. Divisi from the Serra da Canastra region: P. aulociliatus, P. cupreus, P. myriothrixus, and P. versatilis. For each species, we provide detailed morphological descriptions, diagnostic features, illustrations, distribution maps, and preliminary assessments of their conservation status. An identification key is also included to aid in the recognition of all taxa within the complex.
