Abstract
A new species of Specklinia subgen. Sarcinula from the Llanganates sub-Amazonian foothills in central-eastern Ecuador is described and illustrated here. The new species, Specklinia luluae, is morphologically compared to its most similar species, S. brighamii, from which it differs by the concave and adaxially papillose sepals, the column length, as long as the column foot, which has a glandular cavity with 2 lateral ribs and the column with inconspicuous wings and entire margins. The taxonomy and morphological similarities are discussed and information about distribution, habitat, and conservation status is provided.
