Abstract
British botanist and horticulturalist Adrian Hardy Haworth (1768–1833) is credited as having published just short of 1500 new names and new combinations of, mostly, but by no means exclusively, succulent plants. Among these Haworthian names, only six were published for species today included in Kalanchoe (Crassulaceae subfam. Cotyledonoideae). One of Haworth’s names, K. ceratophylla, was published for one of the first species of this genus to have reached the United Kingdom from China. The nomenclature and taxonomy associated with the name K. ceratophylla is discussed and clarified, the name is neotypified, and the neotype is illustrated for the first time. The name K. teretifolia Haw., not of Deflers, is lectotypified.
