Abstract

Zingiber aureolinum, a new species from the Central Highlands of Vietnam, is described and illustrated here. Detailed description accompanied by photographic plates including flower dissection are provided and notes on distribution and preliminary conservation assessment of the new species are also presented. The new species belongs to Z. sect. Cryptanthium within which it is readily recognized by a character combination of creeping rhizomes and bright yellow flowers.
