Physalacriaceae morphology phylogeny Fungi

Abstract

During our investigation of the Physalacriaceae species resources in Northeast China, we discovered several basidiomata with a macromorphology distinct from that of similarly dispersed Physalacria lateriparies in the same region. Phylogenetic trees based on ITS and LSU indicated that the basidiomata should be considered a new species of Physalacria. We have named it Physalacria jilinensis T. Bau & S.Y. Li owing to its type location. It is characterized by its globose to subglobose or obtusely conical, with perforations heads; basidiospores mostly ellipsoid.
