Abstract

(Nomenclatural and taxonomic notes in Leandra s.str. (Melastomataceae; Miconieae). This contribution provides 24 lectotypifications and eight new synonyms in Leandra s. str. mainly related to Oxymeris clade taxa. Lectotypes were designated for the names L. acuminata, L. alpestris, L. barbinervis, L. breviflora, L. calvescens, L. circumscissa, L. debilis, L. dentata, L. fastigiata, L. gracilis, L. hirtella, L. lutea, L. lutea var. glabriuscula, L. mourae, L. multisetosa, L. pallida, L. pallida var. brevifolia, L. riedeliana, L. sphaerocarpa, L. saldanhae, L. sulfurea var. robusta, L. tomentosa, L. tomentosa var. major and L. vesiculosa. The following taxa were treated as synonyms: Leandra circumscissa under L. sulfurea, L. fastigiata under L. velutina, L. lutea var. glabriuscula under L. lutea, L. tomentosa var. major under L. tomentosa, L. pallida var. brevifolia under L. pallida, L. pallida var. brevifolia f. villosula under L. pallida, L. pallida var. caparoensis under L. pallida, L. pallida var. hispidula under L. pallida, L. saldanhae under L. barbinervis, L. sulfurea var. robusta under L. sulfurea and L. thyrsiflora under L. sulfurea. In addition, clarifications regarding the holotypes of L. sulfurea, L. thyrsiflora and L. velutina are also provided.
