Başkale Eastern Anatolia new species Pastinaca Turkey Eudicots

Abstract

Pastinaca vanensis is described as a new species from the Başkale district (Van-Turkey). Its diagnostic characteristics are discussed, and taxonomic comments are presented. P. vanensis is related to Pastinaca zozimoides but differs from this species in indumentum, petal color, and mericarp features. Data on ecology and the conservation status of the new species are also presented. A distribution map of the new and related species is provided.
