Abstract

The name Kalanchoe sect. Raveta (Crassulaceae subfam. Kalanchooideae, K. subg. Kalanchoe) was validly published by Raymond-Hamet in 1916, with the name being applicable to a group of seven kalanchoes from southern and south-tropical Africa. Macro-morphologically these species have large, obovate to round leaves and dense-flowered, club-shaped inflorescences. Kalanchoe thyrsiflora is here designated as the type of K. sect. Raveta.
