Abstract
Spathoglottis calcicola (Orchidaceae) was described in early 2020 as a new and endemic species from South Sulawesi, Indonesia. After careful examination and morphological comparisons, it has been concluded that the characters of S. calcicola fall within the variation of S. tricallosa from the same island. Thus, S. calcicola is proposed here as a synonym of S. tricallosa.
