Abstract
In a recent publication on nomenclature and taxonomy of the genus Juno, we have established several new combinations for irises, including Iris koyuncui Fırat. When stating the intended new combination in Juno for the latter name, a partially wrong citation of its basionym was made. Although the publication year, page number and holotype data were correctly and fully indicated for that basionym, the Fırat’s paper referenced in the literature list to justifiy the basionym citation was indeed a different one in the same journal, which however concerned another taxon from the same area, Iris zagrica Mathew & Zarrei subsp. hakkariensis Fırat, and not the basionym of Iris koyuncui. In the present contribution, evidence is shown to regard the incorrect citation of the place of publication of the basionym as a correctable error not affecting valid publication of the combination, which is fixed here to be cited as J. koyuncui (Fırat) M.B.Crespo, Mart.-Azorín & Mavrodiev.
