Abstract
Shandong is a significant transition zone for China's north-south flora. To date, more than 500 species of macrofungi have been recorded in Shandong. However, only 10 species of Inocybe have been documented in Shandong and the genus Inocybe in Shandong has been less extensively documented than other genera. In the present paper, we propose a new species, I. qiluensis sp. nov., collected from broad-leaved forests dominated by Quercus acutissima. The new species is distinguished by a hygrophanous pileus, a whitish, silky-fibrillose to furfuraceous stipe with a pinkish to brownish background, small, polyhedral-nodulated basidiospores, fusiform to subfusiform hymenial cystidia, and a bi-layered pileipellis. Inocybe qiluensis is positioned within the I. assimilata group based on a three-gene (ITS-LSU-rpb2) phylogeny. Comprehensive descriptions together with macro- and micromorphological illustrations by color plates and discussions with closely related taxa have been provided.
