Abstract

A taxonomic revision of Austroeupatorium in Uruguay is presented. We provide expanded descriptions, photos, maps, and a key for the identification of Austroeupatorium species from this country. The genus is represented by three species: the widespread A. inulifolium; A. laetevirens, which represents a new formal record; and A. steviifolium, here proposed as a new combination in the genus based on Eupatorium steviifolium, which also represents a new record. Frequent misidentifications and affinities with other similar genera and species are discussed.
