Abstract
This study presents a comprehensive account of Cattleya ninae (Orchidaceae: Laeliinae), a recently discovered species endemic to the Espinhaço Complex near Itacambira, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Thus far, researchers have only found it in a few isolated rocky outcroppings. Here, we provide a detailed analysis of the species’ morphology, location map, and on-site pictures, and compare it with similar species. We assessed the conservation status of the species as Data Deficient (DD) due to the identification of only one population, with at least 50 mature individuals outside protected area.
