Four new species of Aspidistra (Asparagaceae) from southern China

Abstract

Four new species of Aspidistra (Asparagaceae), namely A. shiwandashanensis, A. ovatianthera, A. yunbiaoi and A. xiaoyunii, all local China endemics, are described and illustrated. The first three species are from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and the last one is from Guangdong Province. The morphology, ecology, phenology, distribution, pollen morphology and the photo are provided for all the mentioned taxa.
