Abstract

Based on the literature survey, examintion of types, and the rules of ICN, we recognize Garcinia conicarpa as the legitimate name and the species status is reinstated. The taxon has distinctive morphological characters to be treated as a species rather than a variety of Garcinia gummi-gutta. Detailed description showing distinctiveness, photographs and notes on distribution is provided. IUCN conservation status based on the field study is also discussed.
