Abstract

A new endemic taxon previously assigned to Cynoglossum wallichii G. Don or Cynoglossum amabile Stapf & Drumm. from Yunnan Province, south China is described. Distinguishing morphological characters are in its perennial character, bottom rosette leaves with different indumentum density on upper and lower side, moderately branched inflorescence and broadly ovoid nutlets with distinct areola, 3.5–4.2 × 3–3.5 mm in size, which are irregularly and sparsely covered with slim, up to 1 mm long glochids.
