Abstract

During the revision of Indian cycads, we attempted to consult type specimens of the endangered species, Cycas beddomei(1883: 85) and in the process realized there has been a great deal of confusion in previous literature regarding the syntypes of this species. Here we attempt to resolve this situation by identifying the original material available to Dyer and designating an appropriate lectotype.
