Abstract

A new species of Primulaceae, Ardisia medogensis C.M. Hu & G. Hao, is described and illustrated. It is an interesting and highly distinctive species of Ardisia. The combination characteristics of its 4-merous flowers and crenate leaves with marginal glands (vascularized nodules) is unique in the eastern-Himalaya representatives of the genus and renders it easily identifiable.
