Pernambuco Neotropics Annonaceae Duguetia Magnoliids

Abstract

Duguetia Saint-Hilaire (1825: 35) comprises 94 species, 89 of which occur in the Neotropics, and the remaining four in Africa (Maas et al. 2003, Maas & Westra, 2010). It is placed in Duguetieae with Duckeanthus Fries (1934: 106), Fusaea Safford (1914: 64), Letestudoxa Pellegrin (1920: 654) and Pseudartabotrys Pellegrin (1920: 656), all in Annonoideae (Chatrou et al. 2012). Duguetia is one of the best represented genera of Annonaceae in the Brazilian flora and is recognized by the stellate and/or lepidote trichomes and aggregate fruits (Maas et al. 2003).
