Abstract
Impatiens Linnaeus (1753: 937) is one of the largest genera in angiosperms with more than 1,000 species, distributed in the tropical and subtropical regions as well as in the northern temperate regions (Mabberley 2008). The genus is represented in India by 210+ species (Desai & Janarthanam 2011). During a recent plant exploration and survey tour to Jaldapara National Park, West Bengal, two species of Impatiens were collected. After critical examination and literature study, we found that the two names need to be lectotypified.
