Abstract

Parasenecio anhuiensis (Asteraceae, Senecioneae), a new species from eastern China, is described and illustrated. The new species is similar to P. ainsliaeiflorus in its habit, leaf shape, corolla color, number of florets and phyllaries, and the usual absence of peduncles of the capitula, but differs by middle cauline leaves 3–4 (vs. 5–8), capitula arranged in short, compound corymbs which together form a terminal panicle (vs. racemose or compound racemose synflorescence), bractlets 5–7 at the base of heads, triangular-ovate (vs. reduced or linear).
